Does innovative use of live streaming represent a viable alternative to touring for artists anxious to get off the road? 虚拟事件专家克里斯·普法夫说, 090年媒体的Alex Lindsay报道, and 公元前生活's Dan Houze discuss emerging trends and possibilities in this clip from 流媒体 Connect 2023.

Does innovative use of live streaming represent a viable alternative to touring for artists anxious to get off the road? Chris Pfaff,首席执行官, 克里斯·普法夫科技媒体, 美国制片人协会 (PGA), VR / AR协会 (VRARA),亚历克斯·林赛,业务主管, 090年媒体和编码副总裁Dan Houze & 数字策略, 公元前生活, discuss emerging trends and possibilities in this clip from 流媒体 Connect 2023.

“The big thing is figuring out how you sell tickets,” says Alex Lindsay. “互动性被证明是圣杯.” He talks about how building a sense of exclusivity and interactivity is the key for musicians and bands to make money from online performances. “If you play a song every half hour and talk about the song and answer questions and interact with your audience, you end up with an audience that's much more likely to come back to the next one because they were engaged,他说, “他们被带到前排. We also are seeing more and more shows where we take 观众 completely out…I'm working on a concert stage 正确的 now, and there's no space for 观众…the online audience is 观众.”

Lindsay says that once a band really gets an online performance setting working, the revenues are often much larger than what can be expected from live touring. “这就像一个尚未开发的小东西,”他说. “And as soon as we figure out how they make the kind of money they're making with tours, 他们会在10到12个城市开展业务……”

“看看 2 gthr普法夫说. “去年我邀请马克·迪洛伦佐参加了一个小组讨论. He’s got an amazing roster of musicians who perform live from their studios, 他们有一个问问题的社区. You know, one of the great gifts of the pandemic was that nobody could go nowhere. So, 理查德·汤普森, 谁住在我的镇上, 蒙特克莱尔,新泽西, 正在进行这些对话, and Elvis Costello and Mike Lovett were doing these things. 一旦, 埃尔维斯在采访理查德, and Richard's battery ran out on his laptop so he had to run downstairs, 照片显示他光着脚穿着短裤, 这很搞笑! I think that's the engagement – coming back to what Alex is saying – that we all love, 现在我们正在学习更多的技巧和技巧.”

bbc现场的Dan Houze说, “A lot of artists we weren't working with directly because they were just doing it themselves, 正确的? 所以,我想 大卫·福斯特在Instagram上, every morning with his new wife, who's an amazing singer, and they're doing Instagram Live. 那太好了. 他们会带朋友来,对吧? And they're interacting from that, but it's just all from their phone. 这真是太棒了. 它是有趣的. And they can bring in one of David's favorite people, ‘Hey, how's it going, 麦可布雷你喜欢那首歌吗? 我换个调试试.在疫情期间,他们几乎每天都这样做. 然后就慢下来了. But I see a lot of artists doing those one-on-one experiences, but I would love to see that from a big stage presentation style.”

“We've done a couple of pretty big stages, and they look great,” Lindsay says. “But the funny thing that we find is that we don't know how many cameras we really need because, 当你开始做的时候, 你会觉得你只是想去那里. You want a camera that's kind of framed of everybody, and I get to sit there and watch it. 我们发现,如果我出现在大屏幕上, 就像剧院的屏幕, 我想看一下整个身体. 但如果我在家, 我想看到腰部以下的部分, 你知道, 它和我差不多大. 就像透过一扇小窗户往外看一样. 所以我们经常使用这些摄像机角度. 令人难以置信的是大多数人都不知道 YouTube生活 现在是HDR 10和HDR 5.我要活下去. So there's a lot of [ways] artists can ramp this up to a different level. 我们做了很多R&D与HDR 10和5.我现在就去YouTube.”

“你发现了什么??普法夫说.

“Still only one channel of audio and one channel of captions,” Houze says. “来吧,伙计们! 加油,YouTube!”
